Release Date Planned - 17th March
1 minutes to read
I’ve announced on Social Media that Stigma will be available on the 17th of March. Is this a realistic date? I honestly don’t know, I’ve never done this before. There are still a lot of tasks that need to be done, but I feel somewhat optimistic that it should be in at least one store by them.
So, what else do I have to do?
- Get the manuscript back from Abbie - 28th of Feb
- Check/accept her changes
- Create an ePub file, with chapter heading, formatting, etc the way I want them
- Create a PDF file for the paper back. Victoria’s cover has been designed around 338 pages, so I need to ensure I have the correct number in order that the spine looks right.
- Make a copy of the ePub file for the Apple book sample that only has the first 5% of the story
- Upload the ePub to Amazon, Apple, and Google.
- Upload the PDF to Amazon
- Submit the ePub and PDF for approval and publishing
- Create an author page on Amazon and Goodreads
- Update chapter 1 on this website with the copy edited version
- Generate the links for the Apple and Amazon via BookLinker
- Update the website with links to the stores
- Promote / advertise
I’m sure that there are other things that need to be done.
If I had decided to spend a number of months/years trying to get an agent and have Stigma available via a publishing house, then the majority of the above tasks would have been done for me. Not that that is a complaint, the geek in me has enjoyed learning all the bits to get a book into the wild.
